The WPATH Files can no longer be ignored.
Earlier this month, whistle-blowers came forward with damning evidence that the leading global authority on so-called ‘gender medicine’, the World Professional Association For Transgender Health (WPATH), had engaged in repeated, brazen violations of medical ethics and informed consent.
The dogma promoted by WPATH, popularly known as ‘gender-affirming care’ or the Dutch protocol, insists that a child experiencing gender confusion should be encouraged to adopt a new social persona and be put on a path towards experimental puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and irreversible sex-change surgery.
But according to a bombshell, 250-page report published in Environmental Progress and authored by Mia Hughes, ‘gender-affirming care’ is quack medicine; ideology masquerading as science — and it is doing great harm to untold numbers of children across the Western world.
Australian Christians has been outspoken on the dangers of ‘gender medicine’, the rights of parents to raise their families in accordance with their beliefs, and the need for children to be safeguarded from harmful secular ideologies like transgenderism.
While our warnings have mostly fallen on deaf ears or been met with pushback, the WPATH Files confirm that AC had it right all along.
According to independent journalist Michael Shellenberger, who helped compile the bombshell report:
The WPATH files show surgeons, therapists, and activists discussing internally how to treat people with gender distress. They reveal that what is happening is neither good science nor good medicine. There is a discussion, for example, of blocking the puberty of a 10-year-old girl and a 13-year-old developmentally delayed child. Another exchange details carrying out genital surgery on people with schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder, formerly known as multiple personality disorder.
Shellenberger explained that, while the core principle of medical ethics is “do no harm” and all medical professionals must obtain informed consent from their patients, the culture at WPATH was quite the opposite:
These files outline overwhelming evidence that some gender clinicians associated with WPATH know that they are not receiving consent from children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults or their caregivers. They are fully aware that the so-called “gender-affirming care” they provide can result in lifelong complications and that their patients do not understand the implications, including sterility and the loss of sexual function.
He continues:
The documents also reveal that, despite decades of surgeries and drugs, there is nothing scientific at all about so-called gender medicine. WPATH has produced eight versions of its “Standards of Care”, but they are based on ideology rather than science. As a result, the surgeons, doctors, and therapists practising “gender medicine” are essentially making it up as they go along, conducting uncontrolled experiments and doing barely anything to follow up on whether they work.
“The WPATH Files show that what is called ‘gender medicine’ is neither science nor medicine,” concludes Shellenberger. “The experiments are not randomised, double-blind, or controlled. It’s not medicine since the first rule is to do no harm. And that requires informed consent.”
In light of these revelations, Australian Christians has called for the immediate suspension of all gender transition treatments until a Parliamentary inquiry is established. As a matter of urgency, AC believes an inquiry must be held into WPATH’s influence on gender clinics like the one at Perth Children’s Hospital, how Australia’s gender clinics operate, and how children are referred and diagnosed.
“When elected, we pledge to launch an exhaustive inquiry into gender transition procedures on Western Australian minors and push for legislation that protects them from irreparable and potential harm,” WA State Director Maryka Groenewald announced.
“Due to the 2021 Legislative Council reforms, the Australian Christians Party have a very realistic shot at electing between one and three MPs in 2025, giving us significant leverage to get this inquiry launched.”
Mrs. Groenewald mourned that “the health of so many children has been sacrificed in this experimental project, as ideologically driven health professionals use outdated treatments on children whilst knowing they are unable to quantify the life-long physical and psychological harms.”
“This is not “gender-affirming care,” she clarified. “It is the opposite. It cannot be ‘care’ because it harms the child and it cannot affirm their gender while attempting to change their sex.”
“Protecting our young ones from harmful, life-altering procedures is our top priority, and we will work tirelessly to safeguard the future wellbeing of our children and young people.”
