A quick round-up of the news highlights the high stakes for the 2025 Western Australian state election and the crucial role our party, Australian Christians, has to play in it.

Earlier this month, WA Today reported on the retirement of the only female Liberal upper house MP, Donna Faragher. Her resignation provides a stark reminder of the dominance of the ALP in both houses and the crying need for Christian values in the WA parliament.

Reinforcing how far left Australia’s national broadcaster has lurched, The West Australian recently revealed that former ABC journalist Sophie McNeill is seeking pre-selection as a Greens candidate.

Meanwhile, just this week, the Sydney Morning Herald reported the formation of a new party hoping to fill the void with a focus on the health system.

Also hitting headlines this week: climate alarmist Simon Holmes à Court is planning to splash his millions to seat teal candidates and spread apocalyptic fear across the state.

Each of these stories — and there are many more — provide a powerful wake-up call for Christian voters in Western Australia.

For our part, we at AC are more motivated than ever before to fly the banner for faith, family, freedom and life as we look towards the ballot box next year. If secular parties are passionate for their causes, how much more should Christians want to influence Australia’s public square for Christ?

There are three areas of focus for us as we look ahead to the 2025 state election.

First, we want to see as many Western Australians as possible join Australian Christians as members. As we explain on our website:

A member is someone who actively and/or financially supports Australian Christians Party and is not a member of another political party.

They may also vote on key issues at AGMs, join committees, and have the opportunity to stand as AC candidates helping the party grow and move forward.

Membership costs just $25 per year and is tax deductible. Membership fees enable us to field candidates who stand for the values we all hold dear.

Second, we want to call on Christians and other concerned citizens throughout Western Australia to vote 1 for Australian Christians. Again, as highlighted on our site, Australian Christians is the only party committed to upholding honesty, integrity, hope, respect, moral law, freedom, sacrifice and justice in our political arena.

Because of Australia’s preferential voting system, votes for a minor party like ours is never a wasted vote. And you never know what can happen in tumultuous times like the ones we are living in today. Your first vote for AC could make all the difference.

Third, we want to encourage candidates to run. You need no prior political experience. In fact, a career background in something other than politics is often the best CV for the role. AC would love to stand candidates in every electorate statewide. Will you take a stand next year? If so, we would love to hear from you.

At AC, our simple message is this: the time for political games is over. No more messing around. It’s time for Christians to discern the battle ahead and be an unashamed voice for Christian values.

Matthew 5:16 is a verse we quote often, but for good reason. Jesus calls us to be salt, light, and a city on a hill. “Let your light shine before others,” he commands us, “that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
