We are all aware of the unjust chapters of our history that deserve condemnation. However, Christians must be careful not to throw the proverbial baby out with the bathwater. So much of Australia’s early history was animated by godly men and women who believed the gospel and knew its power to transform society for the better.

It is clear from the weekend’s furore that the major parties are utterly compromised by the woke agenda and running scared from the media’s lies instead of standing boldly for the truth. The party that should be holding the government to account is instead ensuring that Labor will stay in power for decades to come.

More than ever before, our nation needs small, honest minor parties like the Australian Christians. We believe that our faith calls us to be active and engaged in the political process, not cowering in fear to the powers that be.

In short, when it comes to COVID-19, leaders from major political parties have failed Western nations on every front.

What the media apparently fears is Giorgia Meloni’s populism — and more specifically, her socially conservative values. In a time when the family unit is under attack, religious faith and national values are maligned as evil, and people are confused with lies about gender and sexuality, Meloni is willing to speak common-sense truths that were accepted by the vast majority until the late 2010s.

The main role of Christians is not to preserve the kingdoms of this world, but rather to advance the kingdom of God. As Jesus declared, “My Kingdom is not of this world.” Paul also reminds us that we are citizens of heaven, not earth.

Having said this, Jesus also declared that “the Kingdom of God is already among you”. It is within us and around us. God’s kingdom is not some abstract, ethereal idea. It has concrete expression in our world. As we seek God’s kingdom, we cannot help but have a tangible impact on the world around us.

We saw everything from a Christian Prime Minister elected in Italy, to a Christian being hounded out of Essendon football club for his Christian beliefs. If this does not encourage people to VOTE 1 for an unashamedly Christianity party who will consistently stand to defend faith, freedom and families, we don’t know what will. This is it! This is where we draw the line in the sand, stand and vote!
