Australian Christians’ Visit to the Archdiocesan District: A Day of Unity and Understanding
On the Thursday, 17th August, Australian Christians Party WA Director Maryka Groenewald, had the privilege of visiting the Archdiocesan District of Perth Offices. This visit was not just a formality but a testament to our commitment to fostering unity and understanding among diverse Christian communities.
Maryka, who has dedicated over 15 years of her life in passionate service to the Western Australia community, was warmly received by His Grace Bishop Elpidios of Kyanea. Her qualifications in Community Development, Politics, and Leadership have always been instrumental in her endeavors, and this visit was no exception. The primary agenda was to introduce our vision and mission to His Grace and to discuss potential collaborations that would benefit Australians from all walks of life.
During the meeting, His Grace Bishop Elpidios graciously conveyed the blessings of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia. We were deeply touched by this gesture and the genuine appreciation expressed for our visit to the Perth District Offices.
The day was further enriched with a delightful morning tea, offering us a taste of Greek Orthodox hospitality with aromatic coffee and sandwiches.
The highlight was undoubtedly the guided tour of the Church of Saints Nektarios, located adjacent to the Perth District Offices. His Grace personally took the time to explain the intricacies of the Orthodox Faith, its symbolism, and the significance of the Feast of the Dormition of the Holy Theotokos, which the Church was celebrating at the time.
This visit reaffirmed our belief in the power of dialogue and collaboration. We left with a renewed sense of purpose and a deep appreciation for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia’s commitment to unity and understanding. We look forward to many more fruitful interactions with the Orthodox Christian community in the future.
