Steve Klomp is the lead WA Senate candidate for the Australian Christians Party in the upcoming Federal election.

Steve has experience in business, management, communications, as a board director and in the tertiary academic field.

He is a Graduate and Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Diploma of Electrical Engineering, a Bachelor of Business, a Master of Business and a Graduate Diploma of (Adult) Education.

A long-time campaigner for Christian values especially the Right to Life for all people, Steve is currently the President of the Right to Life Association of WA. He believes in the sanctity of human life from conception to its natural end.

Steve is experienced in the management of infrastructure projects and he has worked in the education, construction, telecommunications, tourism, electrical and media industries.

He is an active board member and has served on tribunals and management committees for many years. He is currently Chair of the Jandakot Airport Community Aviation Consulting Group, sits, usually as Chair, on the Tier Two Appeals Committee for the Department of Communities and has taught at many overseas universities including in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Malaysia.

For the last six years Steve has been a member of the Pre Native Title Committee for the Noongar people of WA’s South West.

Steve’s community service includes junior sport. He remains the President of the Canning Cougars Tee Ball Club of WA, a position he has held for decades.

For the last ten plus years he has served as an Independent Director and Company Secretary of the Puntukurnu Aboriginal Medical Service (PAMS). Under his guidance PAMS has gone from strength to strength in the service of the Martu and the Niyiparli peoples of the East Pilbara.

In his spare time Steve likes to fly light aircraft (he holds a private pilot’s licence), ride motorcycles and help out at his local Catholic Church.

He and Carla have been married for nearly 45 years and they have six children and three grandchildren. Carla and Steve have been active as foster parents for more than fifteen years.
