Born in Subiaco, Les completed his education in South Perth before earning degrees in Science and Education.
Les predominantly lived in the Wheatbelt region, primarily as a Mathematics teacher and later as Head of Mathematics at Northam Senior High School until his retirement in 2011.
Post-retirement, Les has been active in voluntary roles at Bridgeley Church of Christ, serving as an Elder, Treasurer, and Chaplain.
He enjoys dancing with his wife Lucy, to whom he has been married since 1976. Together, they have three children and three grandchildren.
Having experienced the challenges of rural life, such as droughts and mental health crises, Les is committed to supporting struggling Wheatbelt communities.
He advocates for traditional values, including the sanctity of life, marriage, and quality rural education. His focus is on promoting hope and a sense of purpose through Faith, Families, and Freedom.
